This spectacular farmhouse is a Grade C listed building situated almost at the top of the Weisdale Voe.
It has enjoyed a busy life since it was built as the factor’s house for Kergord House in 1856. The west wing which faces the sea was added in the 1880s when it became a halfway house where horses were changed on carriages travelling to the westside of Shetland. The ground floor rooms were used as a waiting room, where passengers could sit by the fire or they could rent the rooms upstairs. Also known as the Huxter Inn in times past, it offered fishing and hunting holidays.
We have since restored the house and garden with its mature trees and since 2017 have offered bed and breakfast to leisure and business guests.
With one ensuite room and another with a private bathroom adjacent facing Shetland’s brilliantly blue seas you can relax in comfort after you have explored the westside and beyond.
We have a large guest lounge with a cosy stove and you can always be sure of a warm and friendly welcome along with good food in tranquil surroundings whenever you visit Ervhouse. The lounge is also suitable for business guests where you can work with good broadband and mobile signal.
We offer breakfast as well as evening meals. Please see below for our evening menu.
